Ahh, breakfast. Maybe it’s because the kids are in the good mood, maybe it’s the coffee…maybe the mimosas, but breakfast in Walt Disney World feels extra special to me.
The problem? There are a LOT of breakfast options so it feels impossible to choose. And then when you DO choose a spot that everyone seems to be raving about (like Topolino’s Terrace), it can feel like a fight to the death to get a reservation.
I’m gonna give you 5 breakfast spots that rank high for me in terms of food, cost, vibes, and the best part: they’re usually really easy to get.
I’m going to say Cape May Cafe is going to keep it’s “hidden gem” status because most people are looking for the main man, Mickey, and overlook this one.
If you’re okay with his other half, Minnie, this is a great spot to meet some OG characters (Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy) with typical American breakfast food, and a one of the lowest priced breakfasts in Walt Disney World. Woot!
This is also in an A+ location for your EPCOT or Hollywood Studios day if you’re not planning on having an early morning. Cape May Cafe is at Disney’s Beach Club, making it an easy breakfast to hit before walking or taking the boat across Crescent Lake.
Cape May Cafe is only available with characters for breakfast, so keep that in mind when you’re sketching your trip.
My biggest struggle on a recent trip was realizing I wanted a breakfast reservation before our flight home…which just so happen to be Mother’s Day. I had loowwww expectations on what I was going to find since I was expecting locals to be booking up brunch spots galore.
Enter Olivia’s Cafe at Old Key West for chill vibes but more importantly: the availability!
This breakfast buffet (and pretty much any restaurant in or around Animal Kingdom Lodge) stays consistantly rated high. You get more options then the typically very beige food at other buffets, and everything seems more…fresh? For lack of a better word.
PS: If you have a large group of 8 or more, BOMA should be on your list for breakfast.
Okay, so, I’m not a huge buffet person. There’s something about the eggs-made-from-powder and the general up and down chaos of getting everyone food. (If you have kids, I know you understand this.) Do we go? Sure.
But for every buffet I go to, I’m going to want a nice bring-the-food-to-me-please sit down reservation. Trattoria al Forno is not only at my *favorite* resort, but it has an upscale feel with its fabric table cloths and avocado toast.
If it’s a nice morning, sit outside on the boardwalk for the people watching and to make it easier if you have tiny tots that you have to take turns letting run around.
Aaannddd as a bonus, the iced coffee is very good here!
I know I was spilling all the “easy to get” reservations and I talked a big game, but Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ in Disney Springs is a little weird because there’s only brunch on the weekends from 9:30am to 1pm.
BUT! If it lines up with your days, or maybe you don’t have a park ticket and want a nice breakfast before you fly home on the weekend – this spot is soooo good. Love the interiors (I prefer the inside > outside seating here), food, and breakfast bevvies.
If you’re looking for something outside of the parks, I think brunch at Chef Art Smith’s is worth the trip, especially with a bigger group; you’ll appreciate the larger table set ups!

My life doesn't revolve around Disney like you may think. I live for my family: my husband and our three kids. In my spare time I like to make my home the best it can be, read on our porch and watch (you guessed it) Disney+.
