Choosing where to stay can have a bigger impact on your Disney trip than you might think. It changes your mornings, how easy it is to take a break, and what getting three tired kids back to bed looks like at the end of the night.
After years of visiting the resort but never actually staying there, I finally stayed at the Disney Grand Floridian with my family of five. And because we were renting DVC points, we stayed in the exact deluxe studio I wanted for $378 a night instead of Disney’s $844 cash rate.
That price difference definitely affected my review.
In this episode, I’m sharing my honest take on the Grand Floridian Villas as a mom of three, including what worked really well, what surprised me, what I didn’t love, and whether I’d stay there again. We’re also getting into how renting DVC points can completely change your Disney World budget, especially if deluxe resorts are part of your Disney World planning.

For me, the biggest question isn’t simply whether the Disney Grand Floridian is a beautiful deluxe resort. It’s whether the convenience, room setup, transportation, and amenities are worth what you’re paying for them.
At $844 a night, I’d have a hard time confidently saying yes. At $378 a night through a confirmed DVC reservation, the math felt very different.
That’s why renting DVC points is something I think is worth considering before deciding a deluxe resort is automatically outside your Disney World budget. It can open up options you may have already crossed off during your Disney World planning, without requiring you to actually become a Disney Vacation Club member.
For our family, the room layout and easy access to Magic Kingdom were huge wins. The coffee situation, pool, and EPCOT transportation weren’t my favorites, but at the price we paid, none of them were deal breakers.
