Part 3 of my Disney trip report is here, and we’re wrapping up six days at Disney World with a full EPCOT day, a rainy departure day in Magic Kingdom, and plenty of moments where our carefully made plans had to change.

Our EPCOT day was a perfect example of what Disney world with kids can actually look like. We were juggling different ages, Rider Switch, ride closures, a stroller nap, changing dining plans, and an Epcot lightning lane strategy that helped us fit in Soarin’, Living with the Land, Test Track, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure without feeling like we were rushing from ride to ride.

Our departure day was also a reminder that Disney World when it rains doesn’t have to ruin your plans. We kept things simple with low-wait attractions like It’s a Small World, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, and Country Bear Musical Jamboree while waiting out the rain. I just wish I had remembered the waterproof sandals I always tell everyone else to pack!

This final Disney trip report really sums up the reality of Disney world with kids. You can plan ahead, study your Epcot lightning lane options, make dining reservations, and think through every detail, but rides can still go down, kids can get tired, and the weather can change everything. Knowing when to cancel, pivot, or simply slow down can make all the difference.
