There’s a little bit of hidden treasure in Magic Kingdom and it’s tucked away in Adventureland in the cutest French-colonial-meets-Victorian building. Keep reading for my Jungle Navigation Co. Skipper’s Canteen review
Home to our favorite restaurant in Magic Kingdom: Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen (a mouthful that I hope they never change), a sit-down restaurant directly across from the Swiss Family Robinson Tree and the perfect spot for lunch to take a break in the middle of a park day or dinner before the fireworks show.
Since it’s considered “table service” dining (meaning, you need a reservation), make one 60 days in advance. If you can’t find the time you’re looking for, keep checking back since cancellations happen aaaall the time.
That being said, there is always the option to join the walk-up list while you’re in the park. Your best bet would be at off times, like 11:00am, 2:30pm, and 4pm.
If you’re not having any luck getting a Jungle Navigation Co reservation, try Mouse Dining. They’ll alert you when there’s a cancellation!
If you’re on the hunt for some spicy food (like me) or a solid margarita (also, me) try this Jungle Cruise-themed restaurant, which has gotten extra points from us since adding a couple cocktails to the menu. Actually, this is the ONLY spot in Magic Kingdom you’ll find a margarita at all.
The spiciest thing you can get is Skipper Dan’s Dan Dan noodles. They’re not prank-level spicy, but have good heat when you’re looking for it.
These are our favorite things to order off the menu…
Jungle Green Salad
Cheese Bread appetizer
Skipper Dan’s Dan Dan Noodles *spicy!*
“It Tastes Like Chicken”…because it is!
Kid’s Congo Connie’s Coconut Curry Concoction (my girls love this from the kid’s menu, but they do have mac and cheese and chicken fingers, too!)
There’s alcohol here, it’s true! Here’s a list of cocktails you can find at Jungle Navigation Co. LTD…
Golden Haze Margarita (my favorite) $16.50
Teremana Blanco Tequila, Grand Marnier Liqueur, Agave Syrup, Lime Juice, and Smoked Chili Bitters
Jungle Bird (Kolton’s favorite) $14.50
Gosling Black Seal Rum, Campari Liqueur, Cane Syrup, with Pineapple and Lime Juices
Skipper Sangria $12
Red Wine blended with Juices, Spices, and Fruit
Tropical Sangria $12
White Wine blended with tropical Juices and a touch of Ginger
Veranda Shandy $10.50
Blue Moon Draft with Chipotle and Pineapple Juice garnished with a Pineapple Wedge
Since we start our park day in Fantasyland, we always seem to hit Adventureland around noon. I’ve waited for Magic Carpets of Aladdin in the 12:00pm sun more times than I care to count…which makes Jungle Nav a sweet reprieve when our lunch reservation time comes up.
Skipper’s Canteen is themed to feel like the crew of the Jungle Cruise feasts here: there’s the mess hall, the library, and the study. I don’t know about you but I live for a solid theme, so a ride on Jungle Cruise before our meal is *chef’s kiss*
Bonus points for a quick walk up the Swiss Family Robinson tree when you’re done!

My life doesn't revolve around Disney like you may think. I live for my family: my husband and our three kids. In my spare time I like to make my home the best it can be, read on our porch and watch (you guessed it) Disney+.
